Privacy
Homora is a homeschool portal. The data you put in it (curriculum, grades, attendance, student work, teacher notes) belongs to you. This page explains what we collect, why, and how we keep it.
What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address, your name, the role you sign up under (teacher or student), and the state code you select. That's the account profile. After that, the only things we store are what you put into the portal: lessons, assignments, submissions, grades, attendance marks, journal entries, report cards, and AI-assistant conversations.
What we do with it
We use it to run your portal. We do not sell it. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your students' work to train AI models — when the AI assistant drafts a proposal for you, the request goes to OpenRouter and is governed by their data policy; we don't retain a separate copy on our side beyond your conversation history.
Where it lives
Account data and portal contents are stored in Supabase (Postgres database and Supabase Storage). Each teacher's workspace is isolated by row-level security and scoping at the application layer, so one family's data is never visible to another. The Supabase database is encrypted at rest. Connections from your browser to the portal use TLS.
Your students
Student accounts are created and managed by the parent-teacher who runs the workspace. Student profiles include a name, a grade level, and the work they submit. Students under 13 in the United States are subject to COPPA — Homora treats all student accounts as if their data were parental property and gives the parent full control to delete it.
Deleting your data
You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@homora.school. We delete the workspace and its associated student records within 30 days of confirming the request. If your account is inactive for 24 consecutive months we will email you; if there's no response within 60 days, the account and its data will be deleted.
Cookies
Homora uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies on the portal. The marketing site (this page) does not set cookies of its own.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and email registered teachers if the change is material.
